To mark the BBC’s #BeScamSafe Week, I was asked to look into the psychology of fraud for BBC Radio 4’s flagship investigative programme File on 4.
The result is a powerful, eye-opening and often tough exploration of the the Anatomy of a Fraud.
This is the culmination of several months of hard work by me and my producer Vicky Carter. I’m delving into the psychology of fraud by speaking to a convicted fraudster and one of their victims. I’ll also be analysing a real fraudulent phone call with the help of experts to understand how fraud happens and uncovering its intense financial, emotional and psychological impact.
This is the second in-depth report I’ve done for File on 4 this year after my investigation into social housing was broadcast in March this year.
